I haven't done a lot of special stuff on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day Sundays over the years seeing them as mostly secular holidays rather than religious events. However, this year I am going to be sharing from Hebrews 12 and speaking about my father, H. Earl Woodall, who passed away in early May. I believe that in so doing I can bring the Hebrews passage to some life and at the same time honor my father and let you learn a little more about him and about me too. I hope that you will come and join us this Sunday June 18 for Father’s Day. (If you missed this sermon you can find it here. Click on June 18, 2017.)
Hebrews 12: 5 – 7
“My Son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
Endure hardship as discipline, God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?
